The latest Monographic Special Issue of the AgroFOOD Industry Hi Tech journal has been published recently, titled “La nuova era dei probiotici” (The new age of probiotics) AB-BIOTICS team had the pleasure to collaborate and share thoughts on latest developments of probiotics for immunity.
The present issue takes a deep dive into the world of probiotics, raising awareness on the field and its latest innovations, especially in Italy. Various topics are tackled, such as future market trends, regulatory aspects, applications for probiotics and how these are linked with health, sport, and even COVID-19. AB-BIOTICS CSO Jordi Espadaler and Brand Manager Claudia Prat give insight into the gut-lung axis and how the microbiota can have a relevant impact on respiratory health.
AB-BIOTICS has worked with the gut-lung axis approach for several years. In 2020, AB-DR7 product was launched, supported by clinical evidence that indicated decreased levels of proinflammatory cytokines and a reduced duration of nasal symptoms. This year AB21 has been launched, a probiotic with promising clinical results on COVID-19 patients.
